During the vetting, the veterinarian checks the fitness of the horse and other health aspects that may either qualify or disqualify the horse. One more thing you can be able to do to protect yourself is to check out if the breeders of the animal are reputable enough to sell you good and healthy animals that can be bale to serve your needs. They must be able to meet the internationally set standards of operation for you to trust them.

You should make sure that you have asked how well the animal is able to respond to different changes of environment. You must of course make sure that the animal will be able to survive in the new environment that you intend to take it to. Most horses get stressed when they come into a new environment especially in areas where weather is totally different from what they were used in.
